Mete has served as CEO of Ülker and Managing Director of Türkiye, Romania and Central Asia since January 2016. As of January 2025, he is working closely with Özgür Kölükfakı the incoming CEO of Ülker and Managing Director – Designate for our realigned Türkiye and Central Asia region. He will shortly transition to a new role in pladis CEO Salman Amin’s leadership team.
Prior to his current role, Mete worked for Yildiz Holding for three years leading the gum, candy, chocolate and biscuit categories. He was also responsible for Yildiz’s joint ventures in Türkiye.
Prior to joining Yildiz Holding, Mete worked for Hobby Cosmetics for 11 years. He joined as General Manager and after managing the merger and acquisition (M&A) process with Dabur India successfully, he held the position of CEO for four years. Mete was also with the Baser Colgate Palmolive joint venture for 12 years with his final role being Marketing and Sales Director for Türkiye.
Mete has lived and worked in the US, Dubai and Türkiye. He has an MBA from Marmara University in Türkiye and a BA in Business Administration from Cukurova University in Türkiye.
