pladis hosts first ever Global Supplier Conference

Global pladis news

A huge week at the pladis Head Office in London as our first Global Supplier Conference took place, involving representatives from our key supply chain partners around the world. The event gave an overview of our new Supplier Relationship Management Programme which is rooted in the belief that price is one part of the equation, but collaboration on sustainability, innovation and long-term supply continuity is essential to delivering long-term growth for us all.

This shared growth is a key part of the thinking behind pladis’ new supplier programme. After 15 consecutive quarters of growth, and on a mission to be the fastest growing snacking company in the world, pladis is on an extraordinary journey. But how can this 180-year-old startup keep growing?

The rich heritage of our loved products and brands such as McVitie’s, Godiva and Ülker, is essential. It’s the years of craftmanship and expertise behind each brand that inspires us, as we know how much they’ve meant to generations of consumers. But it’s the agility and startup mindset of our corporate brand pladis that has, and will continue to, help turbo-charge our success.

The excitement, enthusiasm and ideas flooding the room at our supplier conference suggests we certainly have the right partners. Our new programme, launched by our procurement team to help facilitate and evolve these relationships, gives us the perfect recipe to follow.

Does it matter? Yes, it does.  To pladis, it’s an essential part of how we operate.  And it will become increasingly important in the years and decades ahead. To protect our food sources, we must help farmers with the impacts of climate instability. We will have to do more to understand the challenges facing those who create the key ingredients for our products.  That can only happen if we have collaborative and transparent relationships across our supply chain, and it must happen if we are to ensure the legacy of our incredible brands can continue for generations to come.

Congratulations to our procurement team for daring to dream big and resetting our ways of working to drive future growth. And a huge thank you to our suppliers from around the world who attended the event.

We’re on a journey, and together we will learn and grow, because winning feels good; and winning together feels even better.
