Anisa Missaghi named Diversity Champion of the Year
Last night we attended the GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards – an evening celebrating the achievements of some of the most talented Black, Asian and minority ethnic achievers in Britain. The opening award of the evening was presented to Rishi Sunak, in recognition of breaking through the glass ceiling as the first British Prime Minister of Asian descent. Other award winners included those with outstanding achievements through adversity and those that made a difference to the lives of others such as championing access to the COVID vaccine in some of the hardest to reach communities.
And at pladis, we had even more reason to celebrate, with our Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer, Anisa Missaghi, scooping the Diversity Champion of the Year Award.
The award recognises Anisa’s efforts to put diversity at the heart of pladis’ agenda - tirelessly championing inclusion, diversity and equity in the workplace and beyond. From establishing our external Inclusion, Diversity and Equity advisory board to creating our Inspire sessions [add link to Inspire series post] series – Anisa has played a pivotal role in ensuring we are an employer of choice for the communities we serve across the world.
Commenting on her recognition, Salman Amin said: “I’m delighted that Anisa has received this fantastic award. It is a reflection of Anisa’s efforts to ensure we’re doing all we can to create a truly inclusive workplace where people can bring their true selves to work. It’s an even more fitting tribute as we celebrate International Women’s Day today too.”
Congratulations Anisa! Together we will continue to do all we can across our pladis family to ensure we keep inclusion, diversity and equity at the very top of the agenda.
