International Women’s Day 2022

Global pladis news

London, UK: Every year, pladis marks International Women’s Day by bringing together colleagues from across the business to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe.

As part of this year’s celebrations, pladis will be joined by Dame Kelly Holmes, a member of pladis’ Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Board, for an “Inspire…in conversation with” event. The event will focus on this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “break the bias”, exploring what we can do to advance gender equality in the workplace.

This is the second event in the pladis ‘Inspire’ series, after CEO Salman Amin held a virtual conversation with Indra Nooyi, former Chairperson and CEO of PepsiCo, earlier this year to discuss the future of work – exploring topics like embracing flexibility and creating equitable arrangements for women.

Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer at pladis, Anisa Missaghi said: "We're delighted to welcome Dame Kelly Holmes as part of this year's International Women's Day celebrations. I'm looking forward to hearing more about how she has overcome some of the challenges she has faced throughout her career, as well as her thoughts on the role that we can all play in helping to drive gender parity.

"As a company, pladis is committed to building a happy and inclusive place to work. A diverse workforce is essential to this if we are to harness talent; and that means greater female representation across the business. While progress still has to be made, we are proud of our achievements to date. Last year, we established a global Women in Leadership Network, which brings together senior female leaders to share experiences, connect and to be the drivers for change. We also have new inclusion and diversity partnerships and an external advisory board who continue to advise us on our journey to building a more inclusive and diverse business globally.”

As a progressive company with a global footprint, pladis cares about inclusion at every level and ensuring diversity of its people to get the best out of the business. This year, pladis is the headline sponsor of the GG2 Leadership and Diversity Awards in London, an event that is widely recognised for its celebration of Britain’s great cultural diversity. On International Women’s Day, pladis colleagues will be attending the event to celebrate and recognise Britain’s most enterprising and talented black, Asian and minority ethnic high achievers.
