1831

Carr’s is established as a small Carlisle Bakery and by 1837 has become the world’s first biscuit factory.

1890

After years of refining the Captain’s Thin concept – a hard-wearing salty snack developed for expeditions – J.D Carr’s grandson develops the Table Water Biscuit we know today.

1912

Carr’s sponsors and supplies multiple expeditions as a form of early PR and marketing for its Captain’s Thin snacks, including the Titanic in 1912.

1972

The Carr’s brand is adopted into United Biscuits.
