pladis Egypt celebrate first graduates of new internship programme
The pladis team in Egypt hosted a ceremony to celebrate the first cohort of university students to complete our newly established summer internship programme.
The pladis Academic Training Hub (PATH), which ran for the very first time this year, provided 15 interns with two-months of ‘hands-on’ training across our Marketing, Sales, R&D, IT and Engineering teams, giving them a glimpse into the wonderful world of snacking! This included visits to our bakery in Sharqia, Egypt and expert one-on-one insight from assigned mentors.
The programme culminated in each of the students presenting a summary of their key learnings to their mentors and our Egypt General Manager, Hussein Shoeib, before they received their graduation certificate and a goodie bag full of some of pladis’ best-loved products.
Nerine Shahereldin, HR Lead in our Middle East, North Africa and India region, said: “It’s been a privilege to see the passion and commitment of our first group of interns, who have all embraced our unified, one pladis culture and brought great energy to our business. We’re extremely excited to continue the programme in 2024 and beyond.”
Omar Aware one of our interns from The American University in Cairo (AUC), said: “I’m so grateful for this opportunity. This has been my first experience within a corporate business, and I was surprised by how much guidance we received from our mentors, who were so generous with their time and expertise. I’ve learned so much in a short space of time that will be of real benefit to me in my studies.”
